Wow. Just, wow. Bryan and the Cascadia Canine Training team absolutely changed our lives! My partner and I have a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd (our sweet Auckie boy!) who we rescued when he was 11 months old. He was terribly anxious around people (especially men) and would pull, bark and growl very aggressive and looked like he was ready to attack. It brought us a lot of stress inside and outside of the home, and was very scary for any stranger that ever approached him.
I watched video after video, read article after article, and talked to numerous people about how to break Auckie of this habit. No matter what I tried, nothing worked. My partner and I talked about training multiple times, but were slightly skeptical because we knew we needed much more than a trainer to simply teach Auckie to sit, lay, and stay. That’s when I discovered Cascadia Canine Training School.
Yesterday, we went in for our introductory lesson. As expected, Auckie was barking and growling uncontrollably the second we walked through the door. Bryan explained to us during our lesson that Auckie was behaving this way because he KNEW he could. Auckie was running the show and he needed to be corrected to know that he’s not the one in control — we are. Bryan showed us how to calmly, patiently, and respectfully gain back control, and after ONE LESSON, Auckie was a brand new dog. That same evening, we walked past people walking, running, skateboarding, biking, and Auckie only calmly watched them pass by without a growl or a bark. We still can’t believe it!!
We are so thankful for Bryan and the Cascadia Canine Training team. If you have questions or are on the fence about signing up for lessons, I recommend giving them a call. They do a great job at explaining their philosophy and they truly want the best for dogs and their owners. We loved watching Bryan with his own dog while at the lesson. They have such a beautiful relationship filled with love, trust and respect, and it’s incredible that Bryan is so passionate about helping owners build that same bond with their own pups.
